"Explanation"
This song is inspired by my surroundings. When TeK played this beat for me, I knew it would be a grim record. The guitar in this song is crying the same tears that I cry when I see our living conditions.
The overall concept of the song is that you have to grind. You have to change your starts and not let society or any other factor change you or take you off of your path. It also saying that all info and advice is not the best. you must pick and choose wisely.
In Verse one I tell a story of my relationship with a kid that I mentor. This is a true story...I never took him to Hampton but I explain college life to him explicitly whenever we build and his focus is more on partying and bullshitting. A true part of college life but not the main objective.
Verse two is inspired by a conversation I had with my mans baby Moms and I kinda just took it somewhere else as I wrote. Its not reality to me but I know for a fact that it has happened to so many of our women that it needed to be addressed.
Verse three is my message to all of the aspiring. Not just artist but anyone who wants to be somebody. The dude I talk about in the song is me before I actually assessed my talent and realized that I was the one holding my key to success. Which is the reason why the file is titled success.
