RECAP 15. Q-TIP, 14. MOS DEF. 13. THE ROOTS v. STATE PROPERTY
12. THE BEATLES
My influences are DEEP. Making a list of 15 is hard and then to prioritize them by influence is even harder. Nevertheless, The Beatles hold their ground no matter where I put them on this list. They are the immagination of my writing. They cause me to attack the track differently, trying to find a way to bring pleasure and pain together for each stanza. Each member brings a eclectic sound and feel to the group. I long to make a group of hip hoppers that could do the same.
My Dad put me on the Beatles when I was young. He used to play Glass Onion and Hey Jude all of the time when I was young but I didn't understand or appreciate their artistry until I was about 17. The happy melodies and lyrics tell some of the most conceptual stories ever. The Beatles are so influential to Day After Rehab I actually named a song the exact same name of on of their greatest hits...KEEP THAT ON THE LOW THOU...
I have soo many favorites that are not legit on YouTube so I grabbed what I could. I suggest one day you just go and listen to their whole discography and see how they have influence American music as a whole. Its just crazy cuz these dudes used to be soooo out there and people have no choice but to fuck with them....I wnt to Be LIKE THAT
Glass Onion
Elanor Rigby: This song made me cry soo many times since I first heard it...
This video is long but it is way a head of its time...Watch it under the influence.
Come Together: Percussion Wise these Niggas was on some otha shit...
My Pops played this for me one day cuz I thought Mike Jackson did it first...lol
